Roger Jay Russell

Roger Jay “Ranger” Russell, 66, of Clairfield, TN, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Park West Hospital in Knoxville, TN.  He was born January 25, 1953 in Middlesboro, KY, the son of the late Clyde and Francis Barley Russell.  He had driven a coal truck most of his life and had many truck driving friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Danny “Hi Top” Russell”, 2 Sisters: Sharon Jones and Kathy Huddleston.  He is survived by the following members of his family:

His wife of 41 years: Helen Teague Russell of Clairfield, TN

Son and his fiancée: Marty Russell and Kelsey Noel of Lousiville, KY

Daughter: Kelly Sowders and Milad Jafari of Seattle, WA

2 Sisters: Karen Powers and Sandra Johnson both of Fonde, KY

Brother in law: Lloyd Huddleston

Step-Brother: Roland Partin

And a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Lyke and Rev. Eddie Johnson presiding.  Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Hamblin Cemetery at Clairfield, TN.  Family and friends may meet at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, at the Creech Funeral Home.
