For the funeral of every veteran, Creech Funeral Home will assist the family with the following:
A Military Honor Guard to be present at the graveside service, which will include a firing squad, folding and presenting of the flag to the next-of-kin and Taps played on a bugle.
A burial flag that may be draped on the casket or folded in the standard military protocol triangular shape and displayed prominently.
Filing all necessary VA forms, including the application for a headstone and burial benefits (if applicable).
If you cannot locate your loved one's military discharge papers (DD-214) we will assist you in requesting these from military personnel records on the state or local level.
If the veteran would like to be buried in a national cemetery, we will make all the necessary arrangements for you with the National Cemetery Administration. We will arrange transportation and a Military Honor Guard at the national cemetery of your choosing. We will assist the deceased veteran's spouse in securing their burial plot with the veteran should they choose to be buried there as well.
We will assist the veteran's family in securing all of the applicable services that the veteran is entitled.
